VidCon's Accessibility Commitment
VidCon strives to provide equitable experiences for all attendees regardless of ability. Sponsors are encouraged to follow these guidelines when building their physical activations to align with VidCon's accessibility standards. For additional ADA information please visit the VidCon website.
Physical Build Requirements
- Flooring must allow wheeled entry without barriers
- All pathways should accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices
- Photo areas, stanchions, and furniture need adequate navigation space
When Space is Limited: If certain areas cannot accommodate mobility devices due to design constraints, we recommend creating an equivalent experience in another part of your activation space.
Video Content Enhancement: Including closed captions on video displays is recommended to support attendees with hearing impairments.
Queue Management
Who Needs ADA Lines?
- Activations larger than 900 square feet
- Any activation with wait times over 15 minutes
Implementation Standards:
- ADA lines must be clearly marked with appropriate signage
- Sponsor staff should be present to direct attendees to the ADA line location
- ADA lines must be marked on your floor plan and shared with your VidCon Client Success Manager
Accessibility Ribbon Policy
VidCon provides accessibility ribbons to attendees with disabilities to indicate they may need assistance during the event. These ribbons are attached to VidCon badges but are entirely optional for attendees. Sponsors and staff are strictly prohibited from requiring "proof of disability" in any form, including displaying accessibility ribbons or answering questions about disabilities. Any concerns about accommodation misuse should be directed to your Client Success Manager rather than addressed directly with attendees.
